TITLE OF POSITION: 
Regional Sales Manager – Fine Art (Dallas, TX)

REPORTS TO: VP of  Sales

DEPARTMENT:  Fine Art Sales

POSTING DATE:  September 2020

Position Summary:
Dixon Ticonderoga Company is seeking a candidate in the Dallas, TX area with a proven track record of high level sales performance, to call on large retailers and distributors representing our Fine Art brands.  The ideal candidate will successfully drive profitable sales growth with existing accounts in order to achieve or exceed the budgeted sales and gross margin plan within their assigned geographic regional territory. Ensures high level of post-sales satisfaction, facilitates long term relationships and coordinates all efforts between the customers and the company to achieve satisfied customers and maintain on-going business relationships.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintains marketing and account penetration plans to identify and monitor opportunities.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to secure profitable growth and maximize all product lines across key retailers and selected accounts.
  • Negotiate pricing, promotion and other contractual agreements as necessary.
  • Identify revenue growth opportunities and play a lead role with internal team members to execute on business.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with buyers and senior store management at key accounts.
  • Drive the sales of new brands and products while continuing to sell core items.
  • Drive sell-thru via partnering with customer base on key promotional opportunities.
  • Drive dot.com business of customer base – gaining broad distribution of SKUs.
  • Develop Annual Budgets and manage seasonal and monthly sales forecasts.
    • Make necessary adjustments to the projections as the season progresses and communicate these changes on a timely basis. Work with customer forecast systems to coordinate with company forecast.
  • Develop, recommend, and upon approval, implement promotional offerings, advertising and marketing plans, events, budgets and forecasts. Analyze and report on variances between actual and budgeted results.
  • Maintain consistent communication with operations and marketing to ensure customer sales and service needs are met.
  • Communicate competitive information and retailer needs and trends to sales/marketing team.
  • As a subject matter expert (SME) maintain technical competence in company’s products, applications and services.
  • Create and maintain sales pipeline, call reporting, and account management information within the CRM system.
  • Represent company and maintain active participation in industry associations, professional organizations and affiliations. Participate in key market associations, trade shows and events. Establish customer and industry network to expand business.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales/Marketing, Business, or other related field preferred.
 
Experience:
  • Seven to ten years of related experience.
  • Experience in calling on major retailers, preferably in specialty art and craft chain segment.
  • Preferably a minimum of five years demonstrated success working in a business development or sales role in the art materials/craft chain retail market.
  • Proven ability to interact effectively with contacts and industry/segment professionals and or organizations.
 
Skills:
  • Strong strategic selling capabilities along with problem analysis and resolution at both a strategic and financial level.
  • Ability to comprehend and make significant contributions to development and execution of business plans, including marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with ability to present to all level of customers as well as represent the company at trade shows.
  • Leadership ability and an excellent team player.
  • Ability to interact with high level internal and external personnel.
  • Business acumen and solid understanding of retail accounts and market.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel overnight 30%.


Other:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

 
Working Conditions:

  • The employee will experience normal working conditions where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, and other related elements.
